Atlanta, GA (May 5, 2009) ----- CCM recording artist, B. David, is poised to release his first solo project, Life Journal, on June 2, 2009. The project is on Destiny Style Records and will be distributed by Taesis. The first single from the album, “Believe,” was released on iTunes April 21st. The single was produced by Georgia native Jan Smith, who has worked as a vocal coach with such artists as Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 and Usher Raymond.
Life Journal features eleven new songs that were primarily written/co-written and produced by B. David. It takes the listener on a personal journey of the artist’s life that includes a history of physical and sexual abuse in his younger years. Even though B. David faced such traumatic issues at a young age, listeners will be able to relate to the songs of forgiveness, release and freedom that B. David has written. It’s a life journey that shows the true depths of forgiveness that brings about such a freedom when that burden is laid at the feet of our Lord. Ephesians 4:32 is B. David’s favorite scripture on forgiveness and one he lives by. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
“Hope” leads off the CD with an upbeat kick and segues into, “Believe,” which focuses on believing in God which leads to belief in yourself. “Guard” is about protecting your heart so emotions won’t rule it so God can reign; “Life,” exhaults how God can renew your soul; “In” shows how God is in our everyday activities; and “Debbie” is a love song to B. David’s wife and lifting up the institution of marriage.
B. David’s interest in music started early in childhood and progressed in high school when he started performing in talent shows, church choirs, and any other music activities where he could sing. In college, while leading praise and worship for Koinonia Christian Center, B. David became heavily involved in campus ministry. It was there that B. David met Bryan Crute, who eventually became the Pastor at Destiny Metropolitan Worship Church in Marietta, GA. B. David followed Crute to Georgia and eventually became the Worship Director for the six-thousand member church. At the same time, B. David became a performing member of Destiny Praise, which released a national CD, Driven, in 2008. His songwriting skills were also beginning to attract considerable attention, as B. David co-wrote a song, “Come Fill My Heart,” that was eventually recorded by CeCe Winans on her project, Throne Room.
B. David currently resides in Marietta, GA with his wife, Debbie, and three children, Madison, Dylan-Nicole and Jude. For more info on B. David please visit, www.bdavidmusic.com.
